“So, Nick, I guess you’re wondering why I asked you here tonight.” Carly smiled at him, trying to make light of the situation.
“Well, yes, Carly, I was wondering.” Nick smiled back at her.
“OK, I’ll get right to the point. After I left your house this afternoon I went over to Rinda’s house to talk to her, you know, to try to make up with her since things have been strained between us lately and to ask her advice about what to say to Derek and… well, no one answered the door, but Rinda had shown me this place by her side yard where you can climb over the fence, so I did that.”
“Yeah, she showed me that, too. Great security, huh?” Nick laughed, and took a bite of his ice cream.
Carly was too nervous to eat anything, so she just sipped her Diet Coke.
“Yeah, I told her how great it was, too.” Carly laughed. It helped to break the tension. “OK, so anyway, little did I know that I would stumble upon Rinda and Derek, well, you know…” Nick’s eyes got bigger and he wondered if she would say what he suspected she saw.
Carly took a deep breath and said, “They were fucking.”
“Good for you. You said it.” He clapped his hands, teasing her.
“Oh, shut up. You’ve corrupted me, Nick Carter. Well, aren’t you shocked? At what they were doing, not at me actually saying it.”
Nick shook his head. “Hell, no. I knew Derek and Rinda screwed that night at your house and I figured they still were afterwards.”
“Well, why didn’t you tell me?!” She asked angrily.
“Why am I going to tell you that? First of all, I wasn’t positive and I certainly wasn’t going to say anything if I wasn’t sure, plus we weren’t dating or anything so I wasn’t obligated.”
“Yeah, we were just fucking occasionally.”
“OK, now I’m beginning to think you actually like saying the word fuck.” Nick laughed.
“Yeah, it’s kind of liberating. I wasn’t allowed to say words like when I was growing up because of my strict religious upbringing.”
“Ah, well, that explains it then.”
“Explains what?”
“Your good girl image.”
“Yeah, the one that you destroyed thank you very much.” She accused him.
Nick chuckled. “You’re very welcome. I’m glad I could help.” He smiled at her with his brilliant blue eyes, which made her melt like the ice cream he was eating.
“So, what happened next?” He asked.
“Well, after they were done, I was just kind of standing there in shock and then they saw me and kind of freaked out. At first Rinda was all apologetic and contrite, but when Derek went in the house to answer the phone, she became mean. She told me that you had just called her and told her that we had been seeing each other but that you missed her and wanted to get back together.”
“What?!” Nick exclaimed.
“I told her she was a liar, that you wouldn’t do that and then she told me that what we had between us was just sex.”
“What a bitch. Carly, I never called her…”
“I know you didn’t. She’s gone off the deep end, Nick. I don’t understand it. We’ve been friends for years and I’ve never seen this side of her.”
“Hey.” Nick grasped her hand over the table. “Thanks for believing in me.”
His sincerity melted her heart and she squeezed his hand. “I have to admit I had a twinge of doubt, but the more I thought about it, I knew she was just being spiteful.”
“Carly, I don’t think you really know Rinda. I mean, she is sweet and charming when she wants to be, but other times… well, she’s got uh, problems. That’s one of the reasons I broke up with her.”
“What were the other reasons?”
Nick smiled. “You, you and you.”
Carly smiled at him and then thought about what Nick had said about Rinda. Yeah, she could see what he meant by the sweet and charming, but not so sweet and charming other times. Yeah, she could be downright bitchy at times; Carly had seen that. She realized that because they didn’t see each other that much, usually only about once a month or so, that it would be easy to overlook some things. She wasn’t around her on a daily basis. Carly remembered how Rinda was raised and it all started to made sense. Her parents divorced when she was six and each of them had since re-married—twice. She didn’t get along with either of her parents or her older sister. She realized that the front she put on for Carly was just that; a front. Deep down Carly knew she was a genuinely wonderful person who had a good heart, but her upbringing, her career and Hollywood had jaded her and made into someone who had become bitter and resentful at times. Carly’s heart started breaking at the thought of what Rinda had become. She hoped one day she would get the help she needed to turn her life around and be the person that Carly knew she could be—again; the girl she had known in high school, full of life and promise.
“Are you alright?” Nick asked, noticing her sullen face.
“Yeah, I’ll be alright. I’m just so sad that Rinda has turned into the kind of person she is now. She didn’t used to be that way. She used to be so lighthearted and caring. Somewhere along the way, she just got screwed up somehow and I pray she can change.”
“Oh, Carly, you’re such an optimist. That’s one of the things I love about you.”
Love?
“Oh, and I wanted to tell you that as much as I tease you about cussing and stuff, I really do like the fact that you are truly a ‘good girl’. That is just so rare to find in my business. You say I corrupt you, but I really don’t want to. I mean, it’s been fun hearing you say fuck and stuff, but please, don’t ever lose that innocent quality I love about you.”
There it was again, that word love.
Carly looked into his eyes, mesmerized. She loved him, too. She smiled and her heart burst with joy.
“What are you smiling about?” He said, holding her hand.
“You. I’ll tell you later. There’s just more I need to tell you.”
“Oh, God, more? I thought we were done.” He said, groaning.
“No, I have to be honest with you. I want to be honest with you. I did get to talk to Derek at Rinda’s house after she said those nasty things to me and went into the house and I cried on his shoulder for a few minutes and then told him I was with you and wanted to break up. He was surprised—he still loved me and...” She hesitated. Nick’s expression changed to one of worry as he took the last bite of ice cream.
Carly continued, “…that he wanted to marry me.”
Nick dropped the spoon into the bowl and looked at her intently.
“But I told him that I was with you and took off. And then tonight when I went to work we ran into each other again—I didn’t know he would be working tonight… and right before I met you here, he cornered me…” no need to tell him about the kiss… “and proposed with a ring and everything.”
Nick looked even more worried as he said, “And?”
“I said no, that I—“ Did she dare she it? Oh, screw it. “I was falling in love with you and I left. And that’s why I was in such a hurry to leave and come here, hence the uniform.”
Nick barely heard anything she had said after the “falling in love with him” part.
“Is that true?”
“Which part?”
Nick frowned. “You know which part.”
“Don’t make me say it again, it was hard enough the first time.” She smiled coyly at him. Nick got up from his seat and pulled her onto his lap.
“Nick!” She exclaimed, but his lips were pressing against hers, opening her mouth, his tongue flickering against her own and breathing into her. They pulled away breathless and he said, “I love you, too, baby.” Carly’s heart was beating out of her chest and she smiled. “You do? Nick, isn’t this all too soon? I mean, how can this be? We hardly know each other…”
“I know, it’s crazy.” He laughed.
“Hey, there was more…” Carly said.
“Goddamn it.” He swore. He was tired of the talking; it was time to find a bed to consummate their newfound feelings for each other.
“Screw it. We can talk about it later. Let’s get out of here.” Carly was going to bring up the marriage and kids issue but then she realized that would have to wait because she was still reeling from his confession of love and his kiss. And all she wanted to do right now was have him inside of her, screwing her brains out.
“Check!” Nick yelled and they both giggled and Carly sat back down on her chair. She downed her drink, Nick paid the check and they practically ran out of the restaurant.
“No more autographs!” Carly warned.
It was 11 o’clock by now and there were not a lot of people around, let alone potential autograph seekers.
“Don’t worry, I’ll ignore them!” He told her and as they made a dash to his car. Once they were inside, they sat there for a minute.
“Where are we going?” Nick asked.
Carly laughed. “I don’t know. We can’t go to my house. Derek might be there.”
“Oh, yeah.” Nick laughed. “A hotel or back to my house?”
“Wait a minute, don’t you have to go to the studio early tomorrow?” Carly asked.
Nick shook his head. “No, not tomorrow. Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you. We leave for Tennessee on Tuesday. We’re recording the some of the album with Dan Muckula in Nashville.”
“How long will you be gone?” She asked, disappointed. They had just confessed their love for another and now they would be separated.
“Just a few days; not that long. There’s always e-mail and phone sex!” Nick said and she laughed. Sex. Right now that’s all she was thinking about.
Nick reached over and tweaked her left breast. “Stop! You’re making it worse.” She laughed, pulling away.
“God, you’re beautiful. I want you so bad.” He said huskily. It made her go wild with want.
“OK, there’s a Holiday Inn a few minutes from my house. Do you want…”
“Let’s go!” Nick said and started the car. Carly laughed at his urgency.
Within fifteen minutes they were checked in and alone in their room. Anxious to be naked in each other’s arms again, they both stripped down furiously, not caring how or where their clothes ended up. Standing there in all their naked glory, Nick and Carly gravitated towards one another, kissing with a reignited passion; their hands exploring their bodies frantically.
“You’re always doing something for me, I want to do something for you this time.” Carly smiled evilly and knelt to take Nick’s full length, hardened cock into her mouth, deep-throating him and causing him to utter moans of ecstasy.
“Holy Hell… shit!” He swore and let go, coming in lovely spurts into her mouth; Carly taking it all in willingly, swallowing his juices, happy to make him come so quickly and so damn much!
Nick grasped her head with both of his hands and pulled her up to his face; not giving a damn that he was now kissing the mouth that he just came into. She was his heart and soul and she continued to make him exquisitely happy.
Nick inserted two fingers into her wetness and Carly arched her back against his fingers; he rubbed them against her clit and thrust them back and forth inside of her. Carly moaned into Nick’s mouth as she started coming; her juices seeping over his fingers and hand. She fell limp against him and smiled.
“Oh, that was so good...”
“No, that was fuckin’ great. Baby, in the bedroom, you can talk dirty; don’t worry about holding back with me.” He smiled at her. He pulled her to him, then bent her over the side of the bed and inserting his hardness inside her, enjoying her cries of joy and loving how damn tight she felt; it was like a vice around his cock. Within in seconds they were both coming again…
“Fuck, Nickolas!” Carly screamed and Nick smiled, swearing himself and emptying himself into her completely.
A few minutes later they were at it again; definitely making full use of the bed…
It was morning before they awoke and make love again. They couldn’t get enough of each other’s bodies it seemed; their love and passion intermingled to form the most beautiful relationship. They finally got up to get dressed.
“Oh, I guess I need to get a change of clothes. Do you mind since we are so close to my house, dropping me off so I can get changed really quick and then you can take me back to my car?”
Nick kissed. “No problem, cutie.” And spanked her butt playfully.
“Hey! Only I can do that!” She laughed, spanking his as well. This time Nick grabbed her ass and squeezed it good and hard.
Carly looked at him for retaliation. “I’ll squeeze something!” She joked, moving to squeeze his balls.
“No way, wench!” He said, jumping back. They laughed and in the next few minutes had checked out and made their way to Carly’s house.
“Oh, good, Derek isn’t here.” Carly said, noticing his car wasn’t in the driveway.
“You know what sucks is that I think Derek and I could be good friends, but because I stole his girlfriend, it ain’t gonna happen.” Nick said as he followed Carly up the driveway.
“You didn’t steal me! I came willingly.” She turned to look at him, but kept walking to the front door.
“Not at first! If I remember correctly, you were a bit icy after our, uh, first screwing session!”
Carly laughed, inserting her key in the lock and opening the door.
“You deserved it! How dare you take advantage of me when I was drunk!” She threw at him as she walked into the house and threw her purse and keys on the counter.
“Hey, don’t forget that I was just as drunk, missy! Besides, you wanted it!” Nick said to Carly’s back as she walked into her bedroom. Nick followed her and closed the door.
“What are you doing?”
Nick raised his eyebrows and said, “What do you think I’m doing?”
“Nicky, no! I need to get dressed!”
“How about undressed?”
“God, you’re insatiable! We just made love!” She laughed. But she continued to get undressed, stripping down to her panties and bra and grabbing a blouse and a pair of jeans from her closet. But before she could put them on, Nick was tackling her onto the bed.
They were both laughing hysterically as Nick started to tickle Carly.
“No! Stop it!” She screamed. He smiled and then started kissing her, his hands on her breasts.
“Ummm….” Carly purred.
Suddenly the door opened and the couple sat up suddenly, frozen in terror.
Derek stood there, a look of shock on his face, then anger. “What the hell is going on?” He yelled.
Carly jumped up and grabbed her clothes, pulling them on hurriedly. Shit! Shit! Shit! She didn’t want this to happen. Nick just sat there, stunned and Derek walked away.
Once Carly was dressed, she whispered to Nick, “Nick, please stay here for a minute, okay? I should talk to him.” Nick nodded, understanding.
Carly walked out of the bedroom and closed the door. Derek was standing in the kitchen, looking down at his hand and then slammed something down on the table and put his hands to his face, rubbing it in frustration.
Carly walked over to see what it was. It was the ring he was going to give her earlier. She went to pick up the box.
“Don’t!” He said.
“Derek, I want to.” She said softly and opened it. Her mouth dropped open. She recognized it. It was his grandmother’s ring. He had showed it to her once a few weeks ago when they were at his mom’s house and she had admired it then. It was a beautiful large, square cut diamond set in a platinum setting. It was very vintage and very much her kind of ring.
“Oh, Derek. It’s your Grandma’s ring. It’s beautiful.” Her heart softened and she picked it up and admired it. She smiled at him.
“Yeah, well, it doesn’t mean anything now. You’re with Nick now, so I want it back.” He grabbed it from her, put it back into the box and walked out of the room. Her heart sunk. She didn’t blame him for being hurt or mad. A part of her was sad that they were truly over; although she knew that her love for Nick overshadowed that.
“Nick, you can wait for me in the car if you want. I just have to go to the bathroom.” Carly peeked her head into the bedroom.
Nick nodded and as he exited the bedroom, Derek walked towards him. Nick stopped. Uh, oh. This had confrontation written all over it.
“Hey, Derek.” Nick said, feeling uneasy.
“Hey, Nick. Thanks for stealing my girlfriend.” He said angrily.
Nick gulped. So much for making a fast getaway…
Chapter 10
