Chapter 24 – Changes

Corinne awoke Saturday morning groggy and turned to look at the empty place next to her.  She would give anything to have Nick lying on the bed next to her right now.  She missed him; she missed her terribly.  She had missed him the entire time she had been at the cabin, but for some reason today it was more pronounced.  She missed his scent, his strong body, his boyish smile, his brilliant blue eyes and his lips.  Oh his, lips! What luscious, sweet lips.  And boy, did he know how to use them.  Corinne imagined Nick kissing her right now; his mouth pressing hard against hers, crushing her in a tight embrace, and his tongue flickering against her own creating wild animalistic desires in her.

She sighed happily, laid back and imagined if Nick were actually here next to her.  The kiss would last an exquisite eternity and then eventually he would travel down to capture one of her nipples between his teeth, alternatively sucking and nibbling its hardened peak.  He would then move to the next breast to do the same until delicious electrified chills coursed through her body creating a wetness in a throbbing pussy.  Nick would revel in the effect he was creating and then continue down to her sopping cunt to lick, suck and do what he does best; make her come.  Shudders of her first orgasm would grip her body immediately as he bathed her clit with his saliva, enjoying immensely her cries of passion.  No sooner would her climax subside than Nick would be stroking his cock to its glorious full length and ramming into her pussy, moaning and fucking her with wild abandon, holding her close to him, kissing her, running his hands through her hair and breathing hard against her neck.  Their cries of ecstasy would commingle as their orgasms gripping them in sweet, unabashed release.  She would feel his semen rushing inside her, mixing with her own cum and her body would spiral down with him in the beautiful afterglow of lovemaking…

Corinne didn’t even realize it at first, but her fingers were already inserted into her soaked cunt, massaging her clit and coming out of control within seconds.  She cried out, “Nicky! Yes!” as her orgasm seemed to last forever.  She was coming for herself and for Nick and the thought resurfaced again, she missed him.

It was noon and Kevin had made a decision.  He was going to see Corinne – today.  It may be the only time he would be able to see her alone, at least without trying to explain why he wanted to see her.  He didn’t plan to tell her about Nick’s infidelity last night; he was going to stay true to his friend and not break his promise, but he was still wanted to talk to Corinne.  Even though she had told him it was over and had moved on with Nick, he still couldn’t help feeling like he needed to give it one more shot; especially after their wonderful conversations the past two nights online.

He had had to make one definite stop before he saw her though; it was a place he had been to before right before they broke up and he knew what he wanted.  It was 2 o’clock until he got on the road and made his way towards the Whitman’s cabin. He remembered how to get there; he just hoped she wasn’t mad at him for just showing up or worse, wasn’t there.  For all he knew, she could have left today to come home; a day early.  Crossing his fingers, he took onramp for Highway 330…

Nick was a wreck.  He overslept on Saturday morning after tossing and turning all night.  He kept waking up and thinking about what he had just done to the woman he loved.  He relived the night over and over in his mind and he wished to God there was some way to take it back.  He wished he had never gone out with the boys; he wished he had never drank; he wished he were with Corinne making love to her right now.  God, he missed that woman.  Being away from her for six days was torture.  Even though they had just started dating, he was getting used to her presence and he loved being with her.  She was the heartbeat of his life and he didn’t want to lose her.  He had thought about telling her the truth and he decided he had better; come what may, he couldn’t deceive her that way, especially with Kevin threatening to tell her.  He hoped and prayed she would understand and would forgive him.  Nick stood up and went to his desk.  He opened a drawer and pulled out a small box.  He opened it.  It was a gift from his mom; probably the best gift she had ever given him.  It had been his Great-Grandmother’s and he treasured it.  He hoped Corinne would as well.

Corinne decided.  As much as she still cared about Kevin and enjoyed their chats the past two nights, she was going to stay with Nick.  She loved him in a way she probably would never love Kevin.  Nick was exciting, fun, and effervescent.  He loved life and it showed.  There would never be a dull moment between them.  Corinne thought about his crazy celebrity life and realized she could deal with it; she had to.  It was a sacrifice she was willing to make for him.  She thought about what she planned to say to Nick.  She would wait for him to be ready and finish the tour, but within a year and half she wanted to be married to him…

Corinne was in the middle of packing her things to leave when she heard a knock on the front door.  What could that be? She wondered and walked to the door and opened it.  There was Kevin standing there smiling, holding a single Lily.

“Kevin! What are you doing here?” She asked, surprised.

“Hi, Corinne.”  He gave her a kiss on the cheek.  “I’m sorry to show up like this, but since you don’t get cell service, I couldn’t call you…” He hoped she’d buy the lame excuse.

“Well, come in.” She took the flower he extended to her.  Kevin decided simple was better; he didn’t want to inundate her with a handful of flowers and confuse her even further.

Corinne set the flower down on the table.  “Thanks.  So, you still didn’t answer my question as to why you are here.” Corinne faced him.

“I just wanted to see you, that’s all.”

“Okay…” she said, walking into the bedroom.  Kevin followed her.

“You’re packing.  Were you planning to leave?” Kevin was relieved he had caught her.

“Yes, I was.  I decided I finished everything I came here to do and I want to go home.  Go home to see Nick.”  She said, looking at him.

Kevin got the point and sighed.  “Oh.  Well, I guess you probably miss him.  Wow, this is awkward.”

“Yeah, I do miss him, Kevin.  I’ve decided I want to be with him and hope that someday he’ll consider marrying me.”

The axe fell right on top of Kevin’s heart and split it in two.  He had hoped their conversations had maybe prompted her to miss him and want to be with him, but apparently that was not the case.

“Oh, that’s great.  I hope you guys will be very happy.”  Kevin turned and left the bedroom.  He was struggling to maintain his composure; his world threatening to collapse at any moment.

“Kevin.”  Corinne said behind him.  He turned around to face her.  “Look, I’m sorry you had to come all this way to hear me say that, but I tried not to imply that I felt any different when we chatted.  I didn’t lead you on in any way, did I?”

Kevin shook his head.  “No.  You were wonderful as usual and that’s the problem.  You’re are too wonderful, Corinne and that’s why I still want you.”  His candidness took her by surprise as she stood there stunned, not knowing what to say.

“But, I’ll leave so you can pack…” He began.  He had lost and it was time to face defeat.

“Wait.  Kevin, I’ll always care about you…”

“Corinne, it’s best not to patronize the rejected guy.”  Kevin said glibly.

“I’m not.  What I’m saying is that I still want to talk to you, see you, spend time with you.”

“Yeah, well, friends doesn’t hold the same appeal to me, but of course, we’ll always be friends.”  He was being honest with her as he always tried to be.

Just then, “You’ve Got Mail” sounded from Corinne’s computer, which was sitting on the coffee table near where they stood.

“Oh, well, you had better go read that.  It might be Nick.”  Kevin made to leave again.

“Wait! Stay right there! Let me just read this really quickly.  I still want to talk to you.”  Corinne went to read her e-mail and smiled.  It was from Nick:

“Baby, I miss you so much.  When are you going to be back here in my arms? You are the only woman I ever want to be with and I just want to tell you how much I love you.  Call me as soon as you are back in town.  Love, Nick.”  Corinne smiled, closed her laptop and picked up a glass of water from the table.

Kevin saw her reaction and could only guess at the romantic message Nick had sent her.

“What did it say?” He asked.

“Oh, nothing.” She said, trying to appear casual by taking a sip of water.

“Come on, Corinne, I’m a big boy; I can take it.  What did he say?”

“Well, alright, if you insist.  He said he missed me, he wanted me back in his arms, I was the only woman he ever wanted to be with, he loved me and wanted me to call him when I got back in town.  Kevin, I…”

Kevin held up his hand.  He had had it.  Something in him snapped.  He would have to break that promise to his friend right now…

“Corinne, I can’t be quiet any longer and I don’t think Nick is going to tell you this, but he cheated on you last night.”

Kevin watched as the glass of water Corinne was holding slid from his fingers and crashed onto the wood floor below, shattering and seeping liquid in a pool next to her feet.

“Wh… what are you talking about?” She could barely get the words out as a vice tightened around her heart, squeezing the life out of it.

Kevin bent to stop the flow of water running down the floorboards, but she stopped him.

“Don’t worry about that! What the fuck are you talking about?” She shouted at him.

“Corinne, I’m sorry.  Oh, God, I shouldn’t have said anything.  It just came out.  I was so mad that he said you were the only women he ever wanted to be with because that’s not true.”

“I don’t believe this! I don’t believe you!” Corinne cried out, tears flowing out of her and leaving a trail of wetness down her cheeks.

Kevin made a move towards her to comfort her, but she was inconsolable and she stepped back.

“Stay away, you liar!” She spat.

“Rinna, I’m not lying…”

“Don’t call me that! Don’t you dare call me that! Get out! I want you to leave now!”

“But…”

“Now!” Kevin knew there was no changing her mind so he exited the cabin.

Corinne fell in a crumpled mess in her puddle of spilled water and sobbed.  She knew that Kevin wouldn’t lie to her about a thing like that; he was the most honest person she knew.  But she wasn’t ready to deal with the truth, especially in front of him.  She sobbed for several more minutes, then got up and went into the bedroom and sat on the bed.  She was not stupid; she knew who Nick was and what kind of world he lived in; infidelity wouldn’t be a big deal to some women in her position; they would almost expect it and deal with it, but she wasn’t that way and he knew that about her.  He also knew—because she had told him—that cheating was unacceptable to her.  That was the one thing she had requested from him above all else—his body was hers and hers was his and they were not to share with anyone else, unless the other person was present and everyone involved consented to the arrangement.

Twenty minutes went by until Corinne realized that she wanted to hear what Kevin had to say.  What were the circumstances behind Nick’s betrayal? Maybe he was really drunk and a woman threw herself at him? Would she still be mad at him? Yes.  He was always going to be in a situation where he was drunk and a woman wanted him; it was his lifestyle and he was supposed to learn how to say No! Damn you, Nick! You have no idea what you just gave up by letting your dick do the talking!

Corinne walked out of the cabin and looked around.  She was relieved to see Kevin’s car was still there and he was sitting inside.  She walked over to his window and knocked on it so he would roll it down.

“Hey.”  She tried to smile.

“Hey.”  He did smile at her.  She looked like a train wreck, but she was still beautiful to him.

“Why don’t you come in so we can talk?”

A half-hour later they were sitting cross-legged on Corinne’s bed, hashing everything out.  Kevin told her everything, the way the events went down as they did and she listened patiently, just nodding.  It was as she suspected; he was drunk, she was hot for him and wha la, sex was born.  She felt a little better that there was no premeditation or possibly feelings involved, but still… it hurt like hell, especially when she had just masturbated imagining them making love this morning.

“So, you told him all that? Wow.  Scotty, I must say, I’m impressed.  Thanks for standing up for me.”

“You’re welcome.  You deserve to be stood up for.”

Corinne smiled at him and instinctively reached up to give him a kiss.  The kiss took an unexpected turn when Kevin pulled her in towards him and kissed her back passionately.  Corinne let herself be taken in, inhaling the man she once loved, could still possibly love, sharing a kiss different from the ones with Nick, but still enjoyable.  Their bodies meshed as one, rubbing against another, awaking a passion that was dormant between them for too long…  Kevin’s hands framed her face as he delicately held her head and his lips descended on hers, his tongue meeting hers; their bodies on fire.

Kevin finally pulled away, realizing the consequences of their actions.

“Corinne…wait… I have to tell you that I didn’t come here with the intention of telling you about Nick so you would sleep with me.”

“I know you didn’t. You forget that I know you, Scotty and right now I want to suck on the magnificent cock that I remember all too well.”  She reached for his pants, unsnapping them and pulling down the zipper.  Kevin sighed happily.  If she wanted to give him a blow job, who was he to stop her…

Corinne’s sucked his huge cock, loving the feel of it in her mouth again. She wanted him to cum and it didn’t take long.  Kevin was already moaning her name, on the verge of release, hesitant if that’s what she wanted, but knowing now that it was the point of no return as he let go and shot his ejaculate in her welcome mouth, coming in long spurts and crying out his pleasure.

Corinne moved up to lie down next him, smiling at him.

“That was my thank you to you.”

“Oh, my God, woman, it was like old times.  You always could make me cum so quickly.  Thank you.”  Kevin smiled at her and hugged her.

Corinne had made up her mind in those moments while they laid there, that she was a 34-year-old practical woman and it was her prerogative to change her mind.  What was she thinking falling in love with an immature, 25-year going on 18-year old? A man that would fall victim to a seductress in the men’s room of a club for god’s sakes! Why wouldn’t she want to be with this wonderful also 34-year-old lying right next to her who would give her the world on a platter and more.  He was gorgeous, honest, talented, funny and he loved her.  And she loved him, too.  It may not be the kind of love that she felt for Nick – the exciting, head-over-fucking-heels, heart-beat-out-of-your-chest-every-time-you-see-him kind of love, but it was comfortable, pleasant and secure.  The kind of love she wanted to have for a man whom she wanted to father her child.

Corinne kept all this in mind as she responded to his kisses a few minutes later when Kevin was undressing her, doing all the things she had imagined Nick doing to her this morning and making love to her with emotion and all the love he had for her in his heart.  After they laid on the bed afterwards, spent from their orgasms, Kevin turned to her and whispered,

“I love you, Corinne.  Will you marry me?”

Corinne looked up at him in shock and knew her life was going to change again…
