Chapter 21 – Like Wow!

Corinne arrived home that afternoon with mixed emotions.  A part of her was devastated about her crumbling relationship with Nick and another part of her was thrilled to have met Tawny.  It was like 15 years of her life had been given back to her.  No more mourning, wondering if she had made the right decision, what was she like, what were her parents like, would she like me… she had finally gotten closure and it felt good.  It was unfortunate that she had chosen not to tell Nick and he showed up like he did and they both got hurt.  She could have avoided that whole situation she realized, but there was no going back.  What’s done is done.

She laid back on her queen size bed and reflected on her relationship with Nick.  She hadn’t quite decided what to do about that.  He was 25 and she was 34… what the hell was she doing with such a young guy when there was no future in it? Why did she leave Kevin and jump right into bed literally and figuratively with Nick? She told herself at the time that she was reliving her wild and crazy younger days.  And it had been lots of fun… two weeks of bliss… fantastic sex, interesting conversations and a lot of laughs.  No doubt about it Nick was a catch; he was more than that, he was a wonderful man and she did love him very much.  But what did she feel about Kevin? Were there still feelings there? Yes, she admitted there were.  It was not completely out of the question that she could conceivably go back to him someday.  Oh, God, Corinne, get your shit together.  And that was it in a nutshell.  She had to get herself to a place of calm and tranquility where trust, fear and paranoia wouldn’t touch her.  She wasn’t going to seek out a therapist; that wasn’t for her, but what she would do was spend some time alone without a man in her life.

Wow, that would be a first, she thought.  Ever since she was 16 she had had a boyfriend.  She dated a boy named Rusty as a sophomore, a boy named Gary as a junior and then she met Rob in her Senior Year.  After her break-up with Rob, she couldn’t bear another serious relationship after what they had been through.  She tried to go it alone for awhile, but usually someone would ask her out and she would end up dating or more accurately, “sleeping” with them.  She had to admit she was somewhat of a slut in her 20s.  She was exploring her sensuality and had a hell of time doing it, too! At 24 she met Greg and Ryan.

Corinne smiled when she remembered Julia bringing them up in their conversation that Friday night at Nick’s award ceremony.  Ah, Greg and Ryan.  They were brothers.  She had met Greg during a ski trip she was on with her co-workers.  They skied together for awhile and he tried desperately to get her to sleep with him that night.  Corinne just couldn’t bring herself to do it.  Something wasn’t right.  The next day, Greg introduced her to Ryan and they sparked an immediate attraction for another.  Becoming inseparable, they skied all day and made out in the Jacuzzi at the hotel at night.  Ryan brought her back to his room and made sweet love to her.  God, that was good, Corinne giggled.  Until the next morning when Greg came over to find them in bed.  Oops! He was furious.  How come she wouldn’t sleep with him, but she would with his brother! He wondered.  Well, it turned out blood was thicker than water and after Ryan conquered her, Corinne was thrown out with the bathwater so to speak.

Throughout her mid to late 20s, she dated several men, most of them forgettable until she met Craig at 29.  He was charming and fun at first, until he discovered it was more fun to fuck multiple women that just one woman; her.  Almost immediately after leaving Craig at age 31 she met Keith.  She thought Keith would be different.  He seemed like a truly genuine and honest person.  They had a lot in common and shared a lot of the same interests.  After a year he proposed and she accepted happily, thinking she had finally found the man of her dreams; a man she really did want to spend the rest of her life with.  Plans for a spring wedding were quickly underway and then suddenly Keith decided to enlist in the Marines.  It was a sour pill to swallow and Corinne was dead set against it.  At the time she didn’t realize that it was a way for Keith to escape his problems.  As far as she was concerned they didn’t have any problems.  He had never said anything to her and he obviously wasn’t planning to because he was shipped off to another country as soon as he possibly could and it was hell trying to maintain a long distance relationship, let alone an engagement.  Corinne finally realized the wedding wasn’t going to happen for whatever reason and ended it.  She would never forget how happy and relieved he sounded when she broke up with him over the phone after five months.  Well, fuck you, she remembered thinking and never wanted to see him again.

She met Kevin six months later.  Corinne was weary of another relationship, but she fell in love with Kevin instantly.  It wasn’t the celebrity status, it was him.  He was warm and well, loveable.  She hadn’t experienced that in so long so she let her jaded past fall away and allowed herself to love him fully without holding back.  The first four months were really idyllic.  Kevin had just finished the play Chicago in LA and he had some free time on his hands.  They spent a lot of time together; making love, going out with Nick, AJ, Howie and Brian, going out with Kevin’s other friends, hanging out with her parents or sister or going out alone.  They would have the most fun when they were alone.  They would do crazy things like take bets when they were going out in public about how long it would take for someone to recognize Kevin and stop to ask him for an autograph.  Corinne smiled, remembering.  She would usually win.  She could judge by the type of place they were in who and when was going to start staring, then whispering to whoever they were with and then try to get the courage to come ask Kevin for his autograph.  It was usually young girls, but sometimes older women and guys would approach them as well.  Kevin would always say to her later, “Damn, you’re good at this! How did you know?” And he would have to pay up.  The one rule was that the reward had to be sexual.  Corinne had fun with it and chose a different thing for Kevin to do every time.  One time he had to go down on her as many times as she wanted in one night, more than one time she got to pick where they were having sex in the house and in public, one time she even tied him to her bed, blindfolded him and fed him food like in the movie Six Weeks and tortured him with her body until he begged her to make love to him.  And on the rare occasions Kevin would win, he always wanted to take a shower with her; let her massage his body all over with her hands, use the removable shower nozzle and her tongue to do delicious things to his body.  They would always end up fucking like rabbits; Corinne slammed up against the shower wall and Kevin ramming into her until they were coming within minutes.

Corinne rolled over onto her side and sighed sadly.  So many good times with that man… until he got busy.  He had to do appearances, press-related celebrity bullshit and discussions about the new album.  He was gone so much, tired at night and they ended up not seeing each other until the weekend.  They still enjoyed each other’s company and it was fine, but arguments would crop up here and there which Corinne hated.  She had loved their time together so much before and now it was so limited and they had to make the best of it.  It was hard on Kevin, too, but he rolled with it, knowing that’s the way his life was.  After a month, things calmed down for awhile and got better.  The week before Kevin got the call about the play, she was hopeful that he was going to propose.  She had decided she wanted to have a baby with him; good or bad times; she loved him that much.  Of course, she wanted to get married first, but having a baby with him would be special.  And then he left and this time was so different than the other time.  Before, she knew she would see him on the weekend, but this time he was supposed to be gone for 3-6 months, depending on the play’s success and she couldn’t take it. Of course, they planned to fly back and forth to see each other, but to go from feeling like they would spend the rest of their lives together and maybe start a family soon, to Kevin being hundreds of miles away for several weeks was too much.  Hence, their break-up.

Corinne realized she had tears in her eyes.  She sat up and wiped them away.  She saw her purse on the chair next to her bed and she grabbed it.  As she did, her wallet fell out onto the bed and spilled open.  She picked it up and spied Nick’s credit card.  Oh God, she had forgotten all about that! He had given it to last Monday to use with Amber.  She had been fully prepared to use it, but then Rob’s call happened and life did drastically change for her that day.

She picked up the card and stared at it.  Nickolas Gene Carter.  She rubbed her finger over the raised numbers.  She wondered what the limit was.  Who cares, Corinne! Money was never a big deal to her.  She could honestly say she never dated a man for his money.  She was pretty good at saving and had some cash stashed away.  She planned to buy a house and travel some day and she was pretty close to being able to do just that.

Corinne sighed again and put the card back into her wallet.  She fished into her purse and pulled out her cell phone.  Three missed calls.  Oh, she realized her phone was in silence mode.  She had forgotten she had silenced it so she wouldn’t be interrupted during her lunch with the Emersons.  Exiting the silence mode, Corinne listened to her voice mail.  All three messages were from Nick.  She smiled.  He did love her.  But then her heart sank when she thought about what she had to tell him.

Reaching for her wireless phone, she was startled when it rang in her hand.

“Hello?”

“Corinne! Oh my God, I’m so glad to reach you!” It was Nick.

“Yeah, I just listened to your voice mails.  Sorry, I had my phone in silence mode.  I’m so glad you called!”

“Can I come over?” Nick asked.

“Sure.”

“Okay.  I’ll be there in 30 minutes.”

“Sounds good.  Bye.”

Corinne laid back on the bed.  She was happy to hear from Nick and hear that he wanted to see her, but she was also unsure what his reaction would be to her news.

Nick’s mouth ascended on his girlfriend’s, happy to be in her arms again.

“Wow, what a greeting! I guess you forgive me, then?” Corinne asked.

“Yeah.  I was thinking about it and I get it.  You’ve been hurt before and you were scared I’d leave you.  What made me mad was that you would think I would do that to you after all we’ve shared.”  Nick said, honestly.

“Baby, I know.  I’m really sorry.  I really regret not telling you.”

“It’s okay.  So, tell me about your daughter.  I want to hear how it went.”

“It went great.  Oh, Nicky, she’s a sweetheart.  Beautiful, smart, adorable.”

“Sounds like you!” He brushed a curl from her cheek.

“Thanks.  Seriously, I was impressed.  And her parents are awesome, too.”

“That’s great.  I’m really happy for you.  Are you going to see her again?”

Corinne laughed.  “Well, she has a big crush on you and she loves BSB, so I told her she could meet you and the guys.  I hope that’s okay.”

“Are you kidding? We’d love that.  Just name the time.”

“God, you’re awesome.  Thanks! I’ll let you know.  It might be awhile though because I’m going away for a few days.”

Nick looked at her curiously.  “Why? Where?”

“Nicky, I realized that after you left me in the restaurant that I am having some issues that I need to iron out.  I think I just need to get away for a week or so and just figure out who I am and how can I get stronger so I don’t freak out like I did when Kevin left or not tell you that I had a daughter.”

Nick was quiet for a minute, reflecting on her news.  Here he was happy about reconciling with her and she tells him she’s going away.

“Okay, I get it.  You do what you need to do.  Where are you going?”

Corinne shrugged.  “I don’t know yet.  I’m going to think about this weekend, but I want to leave Monday wherever I go and I’ll probably come back next weekend some time.”

“Just let me know.  I’ll miss you.”

“I will miss you, too.”

Then Nick thought of something.  “You aren’t breaking up with me, are you?”

Corinne shook her head.  “No, I don’t want to break up.  I just need a break for a few days.  But, Baby, I don’t want to trade phone calls.  I think I need total privacy.  I hope you’re okay with that.”

“Yeah, I’ll live.  We’re going to busy all week recording so that’s fine.  Just call me as soon as you get back.  I’m going to miss this..” He said as he kissed her again, this time copping a feel of her right breast.

Corinne giggled.  “Oh, so you only want me for the sex!”

“Of course, what else?”

Nick was already pulling her spaghetti straps down, revealing her strapless bra and generous cleavage.  His hands reached behind her to unhook her bra, which fell unabashedly onto the bed.  His lips were pressed against her tits, sucking them into two hardened peaks.

Corinne was beside herself.  He had a way of making her wet instantly, craving his mouth, his hands and body on top of hers.

This time Corinne pushed him onto the bed, tugging at his t-shirt impatiently, discarding it and sucked on his own tits for a little, causing low moans emit from his throat.  She then ran her hands over his strong, sexy chest, loving the feel of his hairs tickling her fingers and knowing she was causing quite a stir in his nether region.  Nick lay back, letting her have her way with him, thrilling at her touch and the thought of what to come.  What came next was Corinne’s impatient fingers, unfastening his snap and zipper, pulling down his jeans and boxers and captured his enormous cock into her mouth.

“Ooohhh… yeah…” Nick exclaimed.  She then removed her mouth and stroked him with her hand up and down until he was harder than she thought was possible.

“Fuck me, Nicky.”  Corinne whispered in his ear.  Obeying her wish, Nick pushed her roughly back down on the bed.

“Oh!” Nick had forgotten she had a waterbed.  It was motionless normally until you made a sudden movement like he just did.  Corinne laughed.  She loved her bed; especially making love on it.

“Well, don’t stop now, Carter!” She demanded.  Nick’s hesitancy was short-lived as he thrust himself furiously inside her, hard against her clit bringing moans of ecstasy from Corinne.

“Do you like that?” He asked, continued to ram into her.

“Yes! Yes!”

“Tell you what you want!”

“I want you to… oh, God… F-U-C-K ME!!!”  Corinne was already coming, she couldn’t believe it.  She never came that fast.  And right on the heels of her first orgasm was another one.  Multiples! She had never dreamed it was possible! “Nick, I’m coming again!” Corinne said as she rode another delicious wave of exquisite pleasure.  Nick could feel her tight pussy gripping his cock in her second orgasm and that sent him over the edge.  “My fucking God!” He screamed as he shot his wad into her, coming like he never had; his body shaking uncontrollably.  He and Corinne held onto each other like lost souls who had finally found one another; their bodies so close it was almost as they were one.  Sweat was dripping off of them and they collapsed on the mattress in extreme exhaustion.

Nick pulled her close and kissed her.  “I’m so fucking in love with you.  Promise me you won’t leave me.”

“Hey, I already made you promise me that, remember?” She couldn’t resist saying.  “But I promise.  I love you, too.”

Entwined and tangled in one another’s bodies, their hearts beat out love and their minds finally shut down as sleep came upon them.
