"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
Olivia was a long way from home
She can make alone look pretty
Her attitude made a part of her landscape
Riding her bike through alphabet city"
Nick had not slept well the night before. Arriving at his L.A. house after AJ dropped him off, not long after Olivia and Kevin left, he decided to watch some T.V. to get his mind off the night’s events. But even that couldn’t distract him so he tried his video games. That worked for about an hour and then his mind was back on the new woman that had entered his life earlier that day.
‘Goddamn it! I can’t do this!’ He decided to drive down to the beach to calm his mind. That was his favorite place. He ended up staring at the waves for hours and then driving back home three hours later only to find that sleep still eluded him. All of he could think of was Kevin screwing Olivia and that they were together. He wanted to be the one she was with right now. Somehow he managed to pass out at 5am only to wake up at 9am. At that point, he decided screw it, he was going to Kevin’s find out if a) Olivia was there and b) if he had any chance at all with her.
As Nick stood there at Kevin's doorstep, all he could do was stare at Olivia. What a vision in Kevin’s shirt, hair messed up, most of her make-up smudged off, so naturally beautiful and sexy as hell.
“Nick, what are you doing here?” She was taken aback by his presence.
“Well, I guess I know what you’re doing here.” He said quietly, his eyes traveling to her half opened shirt, her left breast almost completely exposed. A warmth spread over his body and his jeans began to tighten over his groin area.
Olivia followed his eyes. “Oh, God!” She quickly pulled her shirt closed, flushing with embarrassment. This wasn’t supposed to happen. She was supposed to be with Kevin right now, not standing half-naked in front of Nick, the man she still desired.
“Olivia, who is it?” Kevin appeared behind Olivia to see a stunned Nick, still recovering from the sight of Olivia’s breast trying to emerge from her shirt.
“Nick! Hey, what are you doing here?” Kevin asked, putting his arms around Olivia, reminding Nick once again, that she was his property.
Feeling once again defeated, Nick fumbled in his mind for an explanation for his appearance.
“Um… actually, I was feeling lonely and I just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out today…” Nick attempted the make the lie seem plausible but it even sounded lame to his ears.
Kevin looked at Nick, about to tell him off until Olivia intervened. “Hey, we’d love to hang out with you, Nick. Right, Kevin?”
Olivia looked at Kevin and Kevin looked at her as if she had lost her mind. “Just a second, Nick.” Olivia said and steered Kevin in the direction of the bedroom.
“Olivia, Nick is the last person I want to see right now! I thought you and I…” Kevin whispered, his voice trailing off when he saw her face.
“Look, I want you just as much as you want me, but I feel sorry for him. He looks really depressed.”
“Yeah, he’s depressed because he can’t have you.” Kevin said and Olivia snapped back into reality. Was that really true?
While she was pondering Kevin’s statement, they heard Nick yell from the living room, “Look, you guys, I’m sorry I bothered you. I’m going to take off.”
Olivia’s instinct was to make everything right like she always did and she ran after him, not thinking.
“Nick, no! Wait!” Nick paused and Kevin walked back into the living room.
“Look, buddy. This is ridiculous. We can all be friends. We’ll hang out with you today. What do you guys want to do?” Olivia looked at Kevin and could have kissed him. He really endeared himself more to her with that comment and she knew he was sincere. He really did love Nick like a brother and it showed. He could put their differences aside for one day. Olivia really wanted to spend more time with both Kevin and Nick so she could continue to sort out her feelings for both of them. She and Kevin had shared something wonderful last night and here she was, still drooling over Nick. It wasn’t fair to any of them. She had to make up her mind today.
“Shit, you guys. I’m really sorry I interrupted your time together. I feel terrible. I just think you two should keep doing whatever you were doing before I got here and I’m going to leave now.” Nick started for the door again, feeling like an idiot. She and Kevin obviously were getting along very well without him…
“No, Nicky, Kaos, brother, wait. Olivia, why don’t you get changed and I’ll finish breakfast for all of us and then we’ll all hang out today. Nick, it’s cool. We want to.” Nick appreciated Kevin’s endearments, using his nicknames and was touched at his unselfishness. Nick didn’t know if he could have done for the same for Kevin if the situation was reversed, but he suspected he would have.
“OK, cool, thanks bro.” As Nick walked into the kitchen and when he saw the contents of the eggs and bacon sprawled over the floor, he couldn’t help but laugh.
“Dude, what the hell?” But Nick could guess what happened.
Kevin laughed. “Don’t ask!”
Olivia came in a few minutes later dressed in her clothes from the day before and joined the guys for breakfast. She felt better now that she was fully clothed, although she did long for fresh clothes, make-up and her curling iron.
“So, Olivia, its up to you what we do today since you’re the one visiting from out of town. What would you like to do?” Kevin said.
“Out of town?” Nick said.
“Yeah, I live in Portland, Oregon.” Olivia smiled at Nick. “I’m just visiting Kelli for a week. I actually have to go back to work next Thursday.”
Nick looked at Kevin in shock. He didn’t expect Olivia to be from out of town. Kevin shrugged sadly.
“Yeah, but we’re going to talk her into moving here, right?” Kevin said to Nick and Nick nodded.
“Hell, yeah. You have to move here. You can be one of our groupies!” Nick said and Olivia laughed.
“Well, actually, I have an interview on Monday with a law firm in the Valley. Kelli set it up for me. I had already thought about moving back here.” Olivia smiled at Kevin.
“You didn’t tell me that! You let me think…” Kevin protested.
“Got ya!” Olivia laughed and Kevin pretended he was going to push her in jest, but instead bent over to kiss her cheek, fully aware of Nick’s presence. But the truth why Olivia hadn’t mentioned it to Kevin was that even though she and Kevin hit it off right away, deep down she was still afraid of getting hurt and she wanted to make sure Kevin was for real before she mentioned “the interview”. Now, she was sure that it could be something real with him.
“Well, I haven’t gotten the job yet, but if I get it, Kelli said I could move in with her which is cool.”
“Where is the interview?” Nick asked.
“Why? Do you know some lawyers in the Valley?” Olivia couldn’t resist teasing Nick since he was always teasing everyone else.
Nick chuckled. “No. I was just curious where it was.”
“Um, at The Barnett Law Firm in Thousand Oaks. It will be a killer commute to Santa Monica.”
“Malibu is closer…” Kevin tested the waters.
Olivia was silent for a moment, not knowing what to say and then she changed the subject. “OK, so this is what I was thinking we could do today...” She then ventured a look at Kevin. He got the point. She wasn’t ready to talk about that right now. It was way too soon and that was okay, but they would definitely be discussing it at some point in their relationship.
“What?” Nick said, just happy to have the subject changed. It was making him uncomfortable, but he was so hoping she would be moving into the L.A. area though.
“Well, when we were at the Pier yesterday, I noticed that they have a lot of fun things to do there other than surfing.” Olivia looked at Nick and laughed.
Nick laughed too. “Oh, really? I hadn’t noticed. The ocean is all I see when I go there.”
“Well, I love the ocean, too, but let’s be crazy and go on some rides and play some games and totally pig out!” Olivia’s enthusiasm was contagious and the guys agreed that sounded fun.
“You are going to take me to Kelli’s house to change, right?” Olivia asked Kevin.
“Oh, you don’t want to wear that again today? Why not?” He asked, sarcastically. Olivia and Nick chuckled. “Yeah, sure, gorgeous.” Kevin couldn’t resist planting a kiss on her sexy lips – Nick be damned. Nick groaned inwardly and decided to put on a brave face.
Thirty minutes later, Kelli answered the door to see Olivia, Kevin and Nick standing on her doorstep.
“Surprise!” Olivia exclaimed.
“I guess! Fancy meeting you again. Come on in.” Kelli was thinking thank God she had gotten dressed. She and Danny had finished their last lovemaking session just an hour before.
“I tried to call you, but the line was busy. I even tried your cell, but I guess you have it turned off.” Olivia said to Kelli when they were back in the guest room. She stripped off her top and shorts as they were talking and grabbed a floral print sundress out of her suitcase.
“Yeah, well, Danny and I always take the phone off the hook and turn off our cell phones when we’re doing it. It’s just a funny rule we have.”
“Oh, God! You mean we interrupted you guys?!” Olivia said and stood there in shock, forgetting to get dressed.
“No, thank God! We were done.” Kelli laughed.
“How was it? Is it still good after a year?” Olivia asked, half-teasing.
“Shit, yeah, girl! I came twice! What about you?” Kelli wanted to know. “Who did you hook up with? I can’t tell because both Kevin and Nick are here with you.”
“Hey, a lady doesn’t kiss and tell!” Olivia tried to be coy. It wouldn’t fly with Kelli though.
“Na uh. You spill it, girl.”
“Okay, okay. Kevin and I had a very hot oral sex session last night.”
“Sound good, but that was it?”
“Well, we fell asleep.” Kelli burst out laughing. “On, the living room carpet, no less!”
Kelli couldn’t stop laughing. “I must say, I have never fallen asleep when I knew I was going to get some.”
“Well, you had to be there. It was a very emotional and touching time and we had drank too much and were just drained from all our orgasms.”
Kelli laughed again. “Well, you go girl. I guess it was worth it then. You still have a chance to do the deed today, right? I mean, what is Nick doing here? He wasn’t there last night, was he?”
Olivia laughed. “No, no! There was a moment between us at the restaurant last night… but I can’t tell you about that right now. Anyway, Kevin and I were alone at his house. What a magnificent house, Kel. The view was breathtaking.”
“You mean his body, right? How big is he?”
“Kelli!” Olivia hit her arm playfully. “I’m not telling you that!”
“Why not? You always did before!”
“Well…” Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
“Em hem. Excuse me, ladies, but Kevin and I would like to leave sometime by dinnertime if that’s OK with you!” It was Nick and the girls heard he and Kevin laughing in the background.
“Yeah, Olivia, just throw something on and let’s hit the road!” Kevin joined in and then headed down the hallway, leaving Nick to face the consequences of their teasing.
Nick was still giggling when Kelli threw open the door and confronted him. “What are we in high school?! Grow up! We’re having some serious girl talk in here, so leave us alone!”
As Kelli tried to close the door, Nick grabbed it and tried to fake wrestle Kelli out of the doorway. Just then Danny walked in. He had been taking a nap but woke up when he heard all the commotion.
“Hey, babe, what’s going on?” He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and then his eyes got bigger.
“Hey, aren’t you with the Backstreet Boys? What are you doing here?”
“Hey, hon, Olivia brought them over. She’s just getting dressed and then they’re outta here. Come on, I’ll get you some coffee.” As she walked by Nick, she bumped into him on purpose, making him lose his balance. She giggled and ran off with Danny to avoid further repercussions from him.
Nick laughed. "Good one, Kel." and then looked over at Olivia who was standing there frozen, not aware that she was just in her bra and panties, clasping her flimsy dress to her scantily clad body.
Nick looked at Olivia’s voluptuous body lustfully, taking in as much as he could in the quick seconds her body was exposed. She definitely had it going on in that department.
“Oh, God!” Olivia suddenly realized that once again, she was standing indecent in front of Nick Carter. She flung the door closed, her cheeks red with embarrassment.
Kevin who had been in the bathroom, walked into the room just as Olivia was closing the door, but it was enough time to see her state of undress.
‘What the hell?’ he thought to himself.
“I’ll be right out, you guys!” Olivia yelled behind the door and frantically threw on clean undergarments and the dress she had been clasping tightly to her body. ‘Oh, God!, Oh, God!’ she kept thinking to herself. Not again! And Kevin saw them! ‘Oh, God!’ She managed to run into the guest bathroom and brush her hair, throw it up into a ponytail and frantically apply some make-up, trying not to think of what just happened. She didn’t need any blush she noticed since her face was already flushed, but she applied a little anyway.
Minutes later Olivia was standing in front of them.
“Hey.” she said to Kevin uneasily and kissed him. She noticed he was looking at her in a mixture of confusion and awe at her appealing appearance, but she just wanted to move on with the day and move past this awkward moment they’d just experienced.
Nick was still standing there like a statue, again affected by the near nakedness of Olivia. It confirmed in his mind that he had to have her at any cost. He didn’t want the cost to be Kevin’s friendship – he prayed it never came down to that, but he had to have her at some point in his lifetime. He would try to be patient, but it would be difficult.
“So, I’m ready. I’m going to say goodbye to Kelli and tell her where I’m going and I’ll be right back.”
Olivia went into the kitchen to see Kelli and Danny with their heads together whispering.
“What’s going on?” Olivia asked, suspicious.
At the sound of her voice, Kelli’s head popped up. “Oh, hi! Oh, nothing. I’m just telling Danny the details of your soap opera.”
Olivia laughed. “I’m sure Danny doesn’t care about it.”
“He likes soap operas!” Kelli said.
“Well, you have to admit, Liv, this one is pretty compelling stuff. I mean, two of the Backstreet Boys at once…”
"Kelli, I didn't say that! God." Olivia shook her head. She had to get out of here--fast.
“I know, sweetie, I was just saying it was a possibility since I know you are attracted to both of them…”
Kelli did have a point Olivia admitted to herself, but she didn’t want to deal with this right now.
“OK, girl, moving on… I am going out with yes, both Kevin AND Nick, but just to go to The Pier again…”
“Wow, you really like that place!” Kelli laughed since Olivia would be going there three times within the space of a day and a half.
“Apparently." Olivia giggled. "We’re going to go on rides and play games and eat. It's gonna be fun.”
“It sounds fun. Watch out for those autograph seekers.” Kelli came up to her friend and kissed her cheek. “And don’t forget protection, sweetie, for the ménage a tros.” Kelli grinned evilly and Danny burst out laughing.
“Yeah, whatever, Kel. You're a riot.” Olivia hide a smile and walked out of the kitchen.
“Bye. Call me later!” Kelli yelled after her. Olivia heard laughing as she exited the kitchen.
Olivia was unexpectedly greeted by Nick when she walked back into the living room.
“Where’s Kevin?” she asked.
“Um, he said he would wait for us in the car.” Nick said uncomfortably.
“Oh.” Olivia said, sensing possible trouble brewing. “OK, well, let’s go.”
