Chapter 10 - Not For Me

"...I got a little suspicious, I got a feeling

That you ain't true to me

I should have known better than to buy your lies

You can fool anyone but I got eyes to see

That you're not for me, babe"

Arriving in Portland was no picnic for Olivia.  In fact, as the plane was landing, she was waking up from her emotional alcoholic-induced coma as the plane was descending and she could hear muffled sounds of talking and laughter.  She looked through the crack in between the seats and she could see a couple huddled together alternately kissing and giggling.  Suddenly Olivia remembered who they were at the same time an incredibly sharp pain arose in her temples.  ‘I thought hangovers started the next day’ she thought.  ‘Damn, that hurts!’

The plane finally landed and Olivia thought, just avoid the happy couple and get off the plane in one piece.  ‘You can do it, you can do it’, she told herself.  Fortunately she did.  The rest of the day was spent getting her luggage, trying to figure out where she had parked her car, driving home and crashing on the couch.  She found herself there the next morning and had just enough time to jump in the shower and drive to work, still not feeling up to par physically or mentally.  It had really been a rough day yesterday.  Hopefully today would be better.

“Oh my God, Olivia! You and the Backstreet Boys?! I just can’t believe it!” Stephanie said to her as they stood outside, sharing a cigarette.  Olivia didn’t usually smoke, but today suddenly seemed like the day to have a cigarette.

Olivia laughed at her friend.  “No, Steph, just Kevin.  I didn’t sleep with all of them!” ‘Not yet anyway’, crept into her mind.  Where did that come from? She thought.

“Well, Kevin is hot and you’re so lucky! I just can’t believe you’re leaving us.  I will miss you so much!”

“I will, too.”  They hugged.

Olivia stayed busy on Tuesday, working hard typing up briefs and reports and torts – all her normal duties.  She was happy to be busy so she didn’t have time to think about a certain blonde-haired god.  On the brief occasions she did think of Nick, she made herself think of Kevin instead which was still a very pleasant thought.  She and Kevin traded e-mails off and on all day Tuesday.  He would send her jokes, anecdotes or in his serious moods, e-mails about how much he missed her and what she meant to him.  She treasured those the most and kept them saved so she could read them later.

On Tuesday night Kevin called her and they decided to have phone sex, which was fun.  Olivia had only done that once before with Jack, but it was much more fun with Kevin.  With Jack, it was always about HIM and what she could do for HIM, but with Kevin, he was more concerned about her and her needs first and then his.  Olivia smiled when she thought back to their conversation and what had transpired.  It was a great way to be on the same wavelength sexually since they couldn’t be together physically.

On Wednesday, Olivia knew Kevin was filming the video with the other guys.  Her mind did drift briefly to Nick when she thought of he and Kevin being together and how they would act around each other.  She really hoped that they could still remain good friends and that anything that she may or may not have done wouldn’t come between them.  She would never want to break up their friendship or disturb any of the friendships the five guys have formed over the years.

By Thursday, Olivia thought about how she couldn’t wait to see Kevin on Saturday – he was flying out to Portland to help her move.  She had already reserved the U-Haul truck and had to start packing.  She had already called her landlord to give her one week notice and knew she was losing money since it wasn’t a months’ notice, but she didn’t care.  She was just so excited to be moving back to the LA area again to live with Kelli and start her new job and enjoy her new boyfriend – at least for a few days before he sadly had to go away.   Let the packing begin…

By Thursday night, the video was a wrap and the boys and the crew decided to go out for drinks.  Monica was included and Kevin was okay with that.  They had really decided to put the past behind them and try to enjoy a friendship.

Hitting the Rainbow Bar and Grill in Hollywood, there were probably about 25 people in their group so they crowded around a huge table set up for them in the back of the bar and grill.

It seemed like everyone was eating, smoking, drinking and talking loudly but having a good time.  Kevin was sitting across from Nick and Monica as it happened.  What an odd coincidence, he thought.  Nick didn’t say much to Kevin, although he tried to be cordial.  After dinner, most of the party drank excessively and Nick was no exception.  Kevin was sipping his Black Russian, but Nick was probably on his third or fourth Whiskey Sour and talking up a storm, laughing and obviously enjoying himself; maybe a little too much.

After 10:00, the band started playing.  Drunk off his ass, Nick jumped on stage and asked if he could join them for a song, and added, “You know, I’m Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys, don’t you?”  The band didn’t seem to care who he was as long as he could sing and they found out he could when he belted out the Cheap Trick tune, “I Want You To Want Me”.

The gang at the table laughed and enjoyed the show Nick put on with the band.  Nick started singing to Monica, “I want you to want me, I need you to need me, I’m begging you to beg me…” but Monica just laughed at him.  “I want you to want to want me, I want you to want me, I want you to want me…” Nick sang to her and motioned for her to come up on stage.  Monica shook her head.  Kevin looked at Nick and then Monica, wondering what was going on, but got no explanation.

When the song was over, Nick seemed exasperated at Monica’s defiance, so he just walked out of the bar to have a smoke.

“Look, Monica, I’m going to take off.  I had fun, though.”  Kevin said, wanting to go home and call Olivia.

“Wait, Kevin.  Do you mind just hanging out with me for awhile? Since I just moved here, I don’t have a lot of friends and I’m kind of lonely.  It would just be nice to hang out and chat about old times again.”

“What about everyone else here?” Kevin asked.

“I don’t really know a lot of these people that well since it’s been awhile since I’ve worked out here.  I would so enjoy just hanging out with you, talking and also I would like to explain a little bit more about what happened – why I did some of the things I did to you.”

Kevin was tempted to refuse and take off, but to be honest, he really wanted to hear what she had to say, so he stayed.  Monica explained her side of things and he explained his side and they actually were able to talk and laugh and get things off their chests.  It was good for Kevin to finally hear all she had to say after all this time.  Not only did it allow him the closure he longed for this past year, but he was also able to get a better understanding of why she done some of the things she had done in their relationship.  He was also able to see and admit that he hadn’t been perfect either.

But by 1:00 am Kevin insisted on heading home and Monica seemed to want to go with him, but she didn’t say anything and he didn’t think anything of it.  Arriving home late, exhausted and a little drunk, he just trudged up to bed and passed out, without ever seeing the flashing light on his answering machine or the three missed calls messages on his cell.

On Friday morning, Kevin slept in, having stayed up so late the night before.  Turning over, he moaned as he realized he had a huge hard-on, an almost painful one.  ‘God, I miss Olivia so much’… he thought.   Too tired to fully wake up, he went back to sleep.  Minutes later, not hearing the faint knock on his door, he was slowly awakened by warm, wet mouth around his cock, slowly moving up and down his shaft.  “Olivia, baby, that feels so good! Don’t stop!” Kevin’s eyes remained closed, enjoying the ride on the way to his orgasm.

A minute later, the phone suddenly rang next to his bed very loudly and Kevin decided to ignore it, enjoying his descent into sexual oblivion.

But phone would not be ignored and became persistent with its ringing.

“Shit!” Kevin said, grabbed the cordless phone and pushed the “talk” button, but just then his body starting convulsing with the beginnings of his orgasm and he couldn’t stop it.

“Ohhh Goddd!” Kevin moaned as he started coming, shuddering and spewing his semen into the eager mouth.  As Kevin was recovering from the aftermath of his orgasm, he felt a kiss and then,

“I still love it when you come in my mouth.”

Suddenly Kevin’s eyes flew open to see not Olivia, but Monica lying next to him.  Wide-mouthed and in a state a shock, Kevin realized there was a voice shouting at him from the phone he was still holding in his hand.

“Hello?” He said into the receiver.

“Kevin, oh my God, what’s GOING ON?!”

“Who is this?” Kevin asked, still dazed and confused that Olivia was not the one lying next to him, but instead it was his ex-girlfriend.

OLIVIA!”

“Oh, my God, OLIVIA, I’m so sorry!” Kevin sat up.  “Baby… I’m really sorry… can I call you right back?”  But he didn’t wait for her answer.  “I have to call you back – I promise I will call you right back and explain everything!”  He hung up.  Kevin turned to confront the woman who had deceived him.

“Monica, what the fuck?! I thought it was my girlfriend giving me head and now I have to explain to her why my dick was in another woman’s mouth!”

“I’m sorry, Kev, I thought you would like it – well, you obviously did like it.” Monica smirked.   “But,” she continued, “I knocked on the door and when you didn’t answer, I was worried so I came in searching for you.  When I saw you lying there with a huge hard-on… well, I used to do that for you all the time, remember? I didn’t know you had a girlfriend.”

“You didn’t hear me call you Olivia?”

“I just thought it was someone you had slept with recently.  How was I supposed to know? You didn’t mention her to me last night…”

“Well, the subject didn’t come up.  We were talking about our past, but obviously I should have mentioned her!”  Then Kevin thought back to last night.  “Wait a minute – were you planning to get back together with me or something?!”

“Not really, but I have to admit that I do miss the sex, so I guess I was hoping we could have some fun.”

“Well, sorry, it’s not going to happen.  Goddamn it!”  Kevin was fuming.  “I have to think of what I’m going to say to her… but right now I want you gone.”

Monica looked at Kevin’s face and knew he meant it.  “Okay, okay, I’m out of here.  See you later.”  She got up and walked out the door.

Kevin decided to take a shower to clean up and try to relax before he called Olivia back so he took off towards the bathroom.

While Kevin was in the shower, Monica walked back into Kevin’s house to get her purse that was lying on the bed.  Just as she retrieved it, the phone next to the bed rang and she picked it up without thinking.

“Hello?”

There was a hesitation on the other line.

“Hello!” Monica said again, louder.

“Uh… is Kevin there?”

“No, he’s in the shower.  Can I take a message?”

“Who’s this?”

“This is Monica.”

“So, Monica, did enjoy giving my boyfriend a blow job?”

“Uh, well…”

“Never mind.  I do have a message for Kevin.  You can tell him Olivia said to fuck off!”  Click.
